Muminul Haque scored his 27th century in first-class cricket last June. The former Bangladesh captain was unbeaten on 121 runs in the second innings of the only Test against Afghanistan in Mirpur. After that Muminul could not reach three figures even though he passed 80 four times with three consecutive innings in the National Cricket League. Muminul, who failed to come close to a century again and again, finally reached three figures again. The left-handed batsman scored 117 runs for the Eastern Region against the Northern Region in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) match at Sylhet today.

Muminul's 28th first-class century made his team 352 in the first innings. All out for 108 runs on the first day of the match on Monday Northern ended the second day with 67 runs for 3 wickets. Akbar Ali's team scored 177 runs to make Muminuls bat again.

Shahadat Hossain made 56 for the third wicket partnership of 134 runs with Muminul. Pacer Nahid did not get a century for 10 runs, opener Parvez Hossain was out of the field after being hit on the helmet by a runner ball. After Parvez Shahadat was dismissed for 74 runs, he added 16 more runs. 307 to 352 - Eastern lost the last 7 wickets to get these 45 runs.
